The day we met
A Saturday morning film class in Saigon: My took the empty chair beside Khoa just as he was loading his film backwards. After class, the two of them shot the rest of the roll in the alley out back.

A promise among the pines
Khoa took My back to the pine hill in Đà Lạt where they had once waited for the fog to lift. He brought a ring and the old camera, still loaded with the roll they started in 2019. She said yes before he could kneel.

The next journey
In cherry-blossom season in Đà Lạt, they marry with family and friends close by. Three ceremonies in one day: the vu quy in the morning, vows on the lawn by the pine hill in the afternoon, then dinner.

8:30 am · The bride's home
Vu quy ceremony
A small ancestral ceremony at the bride's family home, for family and close relatives. The groom's family comes to ask for the bride, and both families light incense for their ancestors.
3:30 pm · A lawn by the pine hill
Wedding ceremony
A short ceremony outdoors, before sunset. Please come fifteen minutes early to find a seat.
6:30 pm · A reception hall in town
Dinner
A warm dinner, a few toasts, live music and our first dance. The evening ends around 9:30 pm.
